30/04/2003 More resolutions than ever before have been filed against ExxonMobil for this year's AGM. Of particular interest to StopEsso are those on climate change and renewable energy. The climate resolution calls for the company to report on how it will cope with the reputational risks posed by its climate change policy, and another calling on the company to explain its policy on renewable energy. Last year, a similar resolution on renewable energy garnered a massive 20.3% of the vote - representing $55 billion worth of holdings in the company. Read release. Another resolution calls for the Board to separate the positions of Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Raymond currently holds both positions, which, according to the shareholders, means his job as CEO cannot be properly evaluated as he sits on the board which carries out his own evaluation. more on shareholder action [Previous entry: ""Esso24" Essex success!"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "Exxon's first war benefits"] |
